Pupil Premium Data

The pupil premium for 2018 to 2019 will include pupils recorded in the January 2018 school census who are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) since May 2012, as well as those first known to be eligible at January 2018:

  • It is important to note that any Pupil Premium data held in SIMS is for school use only and is not collected by census - the FSM and service child data which is collected by census is used by the DfE to determine entitlement

  • looked-after children information from the March 2016 children looked-after return (also known as SSDA903) is used to determine entitlement to LAC premium

HOW DO I GET THE DATA?

A data download relating to pupil premium allocations for the 2018-19 financial year is available on the Department for Education's (DfE's) Key to Success website.

Schools can log in and view this data using their Secure Access account username and password - the same as is used for the COLLECT and school-to-school (S2S) websites.

You can use the spreadsheet here to analyse the information held in the csv download

The powerpoint presentation here describes how to import PP data for the financial year to your SIMS system. Please note that, as the financial year spans two academic years, records for both years will be updated in SIMS. Please also note that this data is for school use only and is not required for census. Schools need only record pupil premium data in SIMS where this is to be used alongside other data such as assessment, SEN, attendance and behaviour.

THE DFE HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE RATES FOR 2018/19 WILL BE AS FOLLOWS.

•    Primary Deprivation Premium: £1320
•    Secondary Deprivation Premium: £935
•    Service Premium: £300
•    Looked After / Adopted Premium: £1900
