Error - Reason 0 when logging in to SIMS
This indicates that the workstation cannot see the server for some reason
Fix 1 - check that the SIMS SQL Service is running on the server in Control Panel > Services
Fix 2 - The machine may be pointing to a incorrect Connect.ini file and therefore cannot see the SQL Server or Database - delete the 'Connect.ini' file from the local SIMS .net folder and then re-create a local connect.ini by entering the correct SQL Server and Database name from a working machine
Fix 3 - This error can be an indication that the workstation upgrade has been unsuccessful. On an affected workstation, please try running the following SIMS installers from the SIMS Setups directory:
- SIMSApplicationSetup.exe
- SIMSManualSetup.exe- SIMSAMPARKSetup.exe
Fix 4 - Please ensure that SQL connections are allowed through the Firewall and that TCP/IP and Named Pipes are enabled.
Fix 5 - ONLY RELEVANT IF THE USER'S PASSWORD HAS BEEN RESET
This may be due to the 'Enforce Password Policy' settings within SQL Server
A) To change this, log into SQL Server Management Studio and expand the Security tree and then the Logins tree.
B) Find the user that is getting the error, right click on their name and select properties.
C) In the Login Properties window, remove the tick from the 'Enforce Password Policy' tick box and then click OK. Close SQL Server Management Studio.
