Dear colleague

The SIMS summer update is required to complete the October school census and does not need to be applied before then (although we encourage secondary settings to take the release early to address any possible issues with exam results downloads).

You may have received an email from ParentPay regarding the need to have data automatically transferring to and from the cloud so that it is present in SIMS NextGen software before you apply the summer update of the current version of SIMS. This transfer is carried out by a programme called SIMS Services Manager which is already installed to your SIMS server.

It has come to light that this communication has been sent to all schools irrespective of whether their systems are up to date and working. We can assure all schools subscribing to the OSMIS remote update service that we have applied all required updates to the data transfer mechanisms, that these are working and that no further action is required at this time.

Schools not subscribing to the remote update service may already be compliant and will be communicated with separately by us before the end of this term with further advice.

In short, please look out for further communication from us on which we will provide further information on the content of the summer update, provide more information on progress towards SIMS Next Gen and seek to clarify exactly what is required in your particular school.
