We are required to bring to your attention certain changes imposed by ESS (the company behind SIMS) including:
You will be breaking the terms of your licensing agreement if you provide a copy of your school’s SIMS database to any 3rd party (e.g. for the purposes of data migration) - please see here for more information.
OSMIS is an accredited and approved support provider for SIMS and we don’t expect this to change – however should this change for any reason, OSMIS are required to cease to provide support services for ESS products and to ensure that schools suffer no financial hardship.
ESS has yet to define what is required of a support team such as ours to support the use of their next generation product – we remain hopeful that we will be allowed to support next generation and look forward to helping you to get the very best from the new software.
ESS continue to deliver next generation (cloud based) software in slices (more information here). The next release of SIMS (spring 2024) will deliver improved mechanisms to transfer data between your on-premise system and these cloud components and will require some extra technical works – we will share more information when as this is released.
